The annual volunteer fire department dinner here in Kirk, Colorado had a wonderful turn out. On the menu they had oysters (not my cup of tea!) chicken strips, fries, lemonade and tea!
The fire department was on display! All polished and ready to go at a moments notice. I think I will sleep a little better at night knowing that should the need arise they will be there or here.
The town population is usually about 58 I think everyone was there. The firemen cooked, served and smiled. People are very friendly here. I walked in knowing probably 4 or 5 people. When I walked out I had more names than my tiny brain could remember. Taking pictures is always a fun way of meeting people.
From the youngsters to the grizzled old timers. I am in the older category! It was a fun evening of laughter, friendship and of course FOOD! The crowd spilled out to the tables places out side.
The night was alive with the laughter of children and of hails of “Well, you old fart what are you up to!” I really hope they were REALLY GOOD friends! I tried to get permission for all of my pictures… if you see yourself and are in witness protection or hiding out from the ex… let me know and I will take it down.

I had fun just seeing new people and trying to get as many pictures as I could.
This little one looked lost… glad to see she found Mom! And Dad, he said I had to pay him for taking his picture… five bucks. He came out a little blurry…. so maybe two fifty!!

Smiles everywhere! I really like being in such a friendly town. Now all I have to do is try to remember everyone’s name. If you like the blog drop me a line… if you don’t like it keep it to yourself!! Just kidding, let me know that to!
